Ideas is where you write down what you might post, and where you write it out. In the menu on the left, press Ideas under Posts. The small number next to it is how many open ideas the workspace has. On a phone, open Posts and press Ideas at the top, or put Ideas in the bar at the bottom.
On a computer your ideas are on the left and the writing area is on the right. Press an idea and it opens in the writing area. On a phone you see the list first. Tap an idea and it fills the whole screen, like a document app: a bar on top with back, undo, redo and ... for everything else, and a bar at the bottom with the microphone, the channel line and Make a post. While you type, back turns into a tick that puts the keyboard away.
The Creative Dock used to be its own page. Since 15 October 2026 everything it did is here, and old links to the Dock open Ideas.
Write down an idea
Type in the box at the top and press Enter, or press the microphone and say it. Shift+Enter starts a new line, and Cmd+Enter or Ctrl+Enter saves too. The box empties at once, even without a connection: the idea saves on your device and reaches Postfjord when you are back online.
Show Open, Used or All, tick Only mine to see your own, or search. A long text shows how many words it has.
Two kinds of items
The list holds two kinds of items:
- Team ideas. What you write in the box at the top. Everyone in the workspace sees them, and Bo and Plan next week read the open ones. A team idea holds up to 2,000 characters. Editors and owners can add and change them, viewers can read.
- Private pages. Press New page to write something only you see: not the owner, not your team, not Bo. A page holds up to 20,000 characters. The drafts you wrote in the Creative Dock are here as private pages, with every word as you left it. They are marked Only you.
An idea Bo saved for you is marked From Bo. Press Ask Bo for ideas at the top and Bo suggests three ideas from your week.
Write on an idea
Press an idea and write. Postfjord saves as you go, and the small line above the writing area says when it last saved. Undo and redo are next to it. When you get close to the limit, a line under the text says how many characters are left. If something cannot be saved, a note says so: copy the text so you keep it.
When nothing is open, the writing area shows the daily prompt and a button for a new page.
If someone else changes a team idea while you have it open and you are not typing, you see their words and a short note says so. If someone deletes it, a note says so and you can copy the text.
With Write it myself on, you can change only your own team ideas. You can still read the others and make a post from them.
The tick marks a team idea as used and the arrow opens it again. The bin deletes an idea or a page. When a post is made from an idea, it is marked as used, and a private page that became a post shows under Used.
See the room left on each channel
One line under the text says whether it fits, like Fits all 4 channels · 139 left on X, or Too long for X in red when it does not. You can keep typing either way.
Press the line to see each channel with the characters and hashtags left, and tick the channels you are writing for. On a phone the line sits in the bar at the bottom and opens from there. A private page remembers the channels you ticked.
- X is counted the way X counts: a link is 23 and an emoji is 2.
- YouTube counts letters like å and emoji as 2, since its limit is in bytes.
- Instagram shows a thin blue line in the text where the caption is cut to "... more" in the feed. Instagram does not publish where it cuts, so the line follows what people see: about 125 characters, or two lines when you use line breaks. On some phones the cut moves a few words.
Make a post
Press Make a post and pick one of three:
- Write it myself opens the composer with your text and the channels you picked, ready to add a photo and a time. It opens straight away, even without a connection.
- Let Claude write it opens the composer with your text as Claude's brief. Claude writes the post and you check it before anything goes out.
- One for every channel opens One idea, every format with your text: a post for each channel and an email draft.
The last two are hidden when you have Write it myself on, or when the idea is marked Kept from Claude. A post made from your private pages counts toward You wrote 4 posts this week under the daily prompt.
Copy and dictate
Copy puts the text on your clipboard and says Copied for two seconds. Paste it into Instagram, Edits or anywhere else.
Dictate records up to three minutes and puts what you said in the text, word for word. Nothing is rewritten.
Check grammar only
Press Check grammar only and Claude looks at spelling, grammar and punctuation, and nothing else. Each fix shows in the text with the old words crossed out and the new ones marked. Press the tick to accept a fix, the cross to keep yours, or Accept all. Press Back to writing when you are done.
Claude is asked to fix only spelling, grammar and punctuation. Postfjord then checks every fix before you see it and leaves out any fix that could change what you mean, and the page says how many were left out. Left out are fixes that:
- change a number, a price, a time, a day or a month, or a mark like $, %, + or an emoji
- add or take away a "not", a question mark, an exclamation mark or a line break, or take away a comma
- touch a link, an address, an @name or a #tag
- change a word like "he", "your", "from", "or" or "up" into another word
- turn a common word into another word Postfjord knows ("free" to "fee", "live" to "love", "possible" to "impossible")
- add more than two small words like "a", "the" or "to", or swap one small word for another
This means Postfjord sometimes leaves out a fix that was right. A rarer word swapped for another, or a comma added where you did not want one, can still get through, so read each fix before you accept it.
If you make a post, copy the text or leave in the middle of a check, the fixes you accepted stay and the rest keep your words.
Check grammar only and Dictate are for editors and owners, like every AI button. A viewer can write private pages, save them and copy.
Each check uses a little of the workspace's monthly AI budget, like the composer does.
Settings
Press Settings at the top of the Ideas page. On a phone the same switches are also under ... when an idea is open.
Write it myself
- Every AI button on the Ideas page and in the composer is hidden: Let Claude write it, One for every channel, Ask Bo for ideas, the composer's brief, Rewrite, Shorter, the hashtag suggestions and Check post.
- Your ideas are kept away from Claude. Plan next week and Bo skip the ideas you wrote. Ideas from other people in the workspace are used as before.
- An idea you jot while Write it myself is on is marked Kept from Claude and stays away from Claude for good, even if you turn the setting off later. When anyone opens it, Let Claude write it is hidden. A post made from it shows no brief, Rewrite or Check post the first time the composer opens with it. Opened again later from Posts or the calendar, the post follows the setting of whoever opens it.
- Check grammar only still works, and only when you press it.
- Scheduling, publishing, automations and reports keep running.
The setting is yours alone and follows you to every workspace. Other people in the workspace choose for themselves.
The daily prompt
When nothing is open, the writing area shows one idea to write about each day, like "Write about a question a customer asked you this week." Press Write about it for a new page with the prompt as its hint. The cross hides it until tomorrow. Turn off hides it for good, and the Daily prompt switch in Settings brings it back.
Sound
On a computer, Settings has a Sound card that plays music from YouTube to write to: Lofi beats, Jazz lofi, Synthwave, Jazz piano, Rain, and Forest and water. Press one and it plays in YouTube's own player, with its own pause and volume. The music keeps playing when you close Settings. You can also paste a link to any YouTube playlist or video.
Nothing loads from YouTube until you press a station. The player comes from YouTube's privacy-enhanced address, so YouTube sets no cookie before it plays. Once it plays, YouTube sees that you watch, as on YouTube itself. The music stops when you leave the Ideas page.
Focus
On a computer, press Focus, the four arrows above the text. The top of the page folds away and everything around the writing area fades. Press Esc or Leave focus to come back.
FAQ
Where did the Creative Dock go?
It is part of Ideas now. Everything it did is here: the quiet page to write on, Check grammar only, Copy, Dictate, the room left per channel, focus, sound and the daily prompt. Your drafts from the Dock are in the list as private pages, and links to the Dock open Ideas.
Who can see my private pages?
Only you. Your private pages are not seen by the owner of the workspace, by your team or by Bo. If you leave a workspace or delete your account, your pages there are deleted too.
Who can see my team ideas?
Everyone in the workspace. Editors and owners can add and change them, viewers can read.
Does Claude read what I write here?
Bo and Plan next week read open team ideas, except those kept from Claude. Claude reads a private page only when you press Check grammar only, Let Claude write it or One for every channel, and then only that text.
Why does Check grammar only say it left something out?
Claude suggested a change that could change what you said, such as a different number, a missing "not" or a new word. Postfjord removes those before you see the fixes.
Does Write it myself turn off the AI for the whole team?
No. It is a setting for you. Your ideas stay out of Plan next week and Bo, and your screens show no AI buttons. Everyone else keeps their own choice.
Why can a team idea not be longer?
A team idea holds up to 2,000 characters, so the list stays quick for everyone. For a longer text, press New page: a private page holds up to 20,000.
Why is the "... more" line not where my phone cuts?
Instagram cuts by width on each phone, and it does not publish the rule. The line marks about 125 characters or two lines, where most people see the cut. Keep what matters above it and you are safe on every phone.
Can I write without connected channels?
Yes. You can write, copy, dictate and check grammar. The channel line shows the room left once a channel is connected.
Can I attach a photo to an idea?
Not yet. Upload it to the media library and mention it in the idea. The composer has the library one click away.
