Meta Muse and AI agents for social media

Postfjord is a social media scheduler that AI agents can work in. Meta Muse, ChatGPT, Claude, Gemini, Codex, Cursor and other agents connect through Postfjord's MCP server or its REST API, using an API key you make in the app. The agent reads your brand voice, your calendar and your analytics, writes posts as drafts and, if the key allows it, schedules and publishes them to Instagram, Facebook, Threads, LinkedIn, TikTok, YouTube and X (a paid add-on). With a drafts key, nothing goes out until you approve it in the calendar.

It is included from the Solo plan. Setup takes about two minutes, and you install nothing for Muse, ChatGPT or Claude Code.

What is an AI agent for social media?

An AI agent is a chat assistant that can also do things in other apps. You ask in plain words. It looks things up, makes a plan and carries out the steps.

For social media, that means an agent that works in your scheduler for you. You say "plan next week", and it checks what is already in the calendar, reads how your brand talks, writes the posts and puts them on the right days. Some people call this agentic marketing. The agent does the steps, and you make the calls.

An agent needs a way into your scheduler and a set of rules. Postfjord gives it both: a key that belongs to one brand, and a level on that key that says how far the agent may go.

What Meta Muse can do with Postfjord

Muse is an AI agent from Meta. It can connect to Postfjord through a custom connector that Muse builds from Postfjord's public API document. Once connected, Muse can:

• read your calendar, your connected accounts and your media library
• read your brand profile: tone of voice, rules, themes, hashtags and example posts
• read your analytics: followers, likes and comments per channel, your top posts and the best times to post
• write drafts in that voice and put them in your calendar
• move, edit or cancel posts that are not out yet
• schedule and publish posts, when the key allows it
• read the publish log, so it can tell you whether a post went out and, if not, why

Muse can only do what the key's level allows. A key made on the Meta Muse card in Postfjord is set to drafts only, so Muse can write but never send.

Connect Meta Muse in five steps

Muse builds its own connector from our spec. It takes about two minutes.

1. In Postfjord, open Settings, then Apps, and press Set up on the Meta Muse card. It makes a key named Meta Muse that can write drafts only. Copy the key, it is shown once.
2. In Muse, paste this: Build a custom connector to Postfjord. The connector brief is at https://postfjord.com/connectors/muse.md and the OpenAPI document at https://postfjord.com/openapi.json.
3. When Muse asks for the key, put it in Muse's Secure Credentials Store, never in the chat. Name it POSTFJORD_API_KEY.
4. Approve the connection to app.postfjord.com when Sentinel asks.
5. Try it: "What is in my Postfjord calendar next week?" and then "Draft a post about our Saturday class in our voice."

To change what Muse may do, make a new key with another level and revoke the old one.

ChatGPT, Claude, Gemini and other AI apps

The same kind of key works in other agents. Most of them connect to Postfjord's MCP server, which Postfjord runs for you at https://app.postfjord.com/api/mcp. In Postfjord, open Settings, then Apps, and press Set up on the app you use. Three numbered steps follow, and the text you paste already holds your key.

• Claude Code: one command in a terminal adds Postfjord to every folder.
• Claude Desktop: a few lines in its settings file. It needs Node.js on the computer for a small bridge called mcp-remote.
• ChatGPT: a custom GPT of your own reads openapi.json and sends your key with each request. This needs a paid ChatGPT plan.
• Gemini CLI: the address above in its settings file. You sign in to Postfjord, so there is no key to paste.
• Codex and Cursor: a few lines in a settings file.
• VS Code and other MCP apps: the address above and the header Authorization: Bearer pf_live_....

Anything that can send a web request can use the REST API with the same kind of key: Zapier, Make, a spreadsheet script or your own agent. Which way to connect

Every row uses the same kind of key and the same three levels. The agent you pick changes how you talk to it. What it may do in Postfjord stays the same.

What is an MCP server?

MCP stands for Model Context Protocol. It is an open standard that lets an AI app use tools in other apps. Think of it as a plug. The AI app is the lamp, Postfjord is the wall socket, and MCP is the shape of the plug, so any app that has it fits.

Postfjord's MCP server gives an agent a short list of tools: list channels, read the brand profile, read the analytics, list the calendar, list media, create a draft, update a post, schedule it, publish now, cancel, delete, read the publish log, and ask Postfjord's own composer for a draft in your voice. What a key may do

Every key has one level, chosen when you make it:

• Read only: calendar, channels, brand profile, analytics, media and publish log. Nothing changes.
• Drafts only: everything above, plus create and edit drafts, cancel scheduled posts and ask the composer for text. A draft can never get a date, and a scheduled post cannot be edited, so nothing goes out.
• Schedule and publish: everything, including a time on a post and publish now.

A few more rules keep your accounts safe:

• One key belongs to one workspace, which is one brand. The agent cannot see your other workspaces.
• Keys are shown once and stored hashed. Put them in the agent's safe place for secrets, never in a chat.
• If the agent tries something outside its level, it gets an error that names the level it needs. Nothing changes.
• Every action is logged like any other user action.
• Revoke a key under Settings, Apps, Your keys. It stops working at once.

Things to ask your agent

Talk to it the way you would to a colleague who has your calendar open:

• "Plan next week: three posts for Instagram and Facebook, Tuesday, Thursday and Saturday at 9, in our voice."
• "What is scheduled for the next two weeks? Where are the gaps?"
• "Turn this blog post into a LinkedIn post and a shorter one for Threads, as drafts."
• "Move Friday's post to Monday at 10 and rewrite the first sentence."
• "Use the photo from last week's event in the media library and write a post about it."
• "Did yesterday's post go out? If something failed, tell me why."
• "Which posts did best last month? Plan three more like them for next week."

The agent writes in the brand voice from your brand profile, keeps each channel's length limit and picks photos from your media library. How approval works

A draft sits in your Postfjord calendar with no date. Open it, change what you like, then give it a time or press publish. Until you do, it stays a draft.

With a Schedule and publish key, the agent can set the time itself. Good agents still ask first. The connector brief tells them to make drafts unless you clearly asked for more, and to say what will go out, and where, before they publish.

Either way, you see every post in the same calendar as the ones you wrote yourself. You can move, edit or cancel any of them before it goes out.

Which plans include it

API keys, the MCP server and the REST API are included in Solo, Studio and Agency, at no extra cost. Free does not include them. Drafts the agent asks Postfjord's composer to write come out of the workspace's monthly AI budget, the same as drafts made in the app. See pricing.

What is Meta Muse?

Muse is an AI agent from Meta. It can connect to Postfjord through a custom connector that Muse builds from Postfjord's public API document at postfjord.com/openapi.json. Once connected, Muse can read your calendar and brand voice and write posts in Postfjord.

Can AI manage my social media?

An AI agent can plan, write and schedule posts for you, and check whether they went out. With Postfjord you choose how much it may do: read only, drafts only, or schedule and publish. Most people start with drafts only and approve each post in the calendar.

Is there an AI social media manager that posts for me?

Yes. Connect an agent like Muse, Claude or ChatGPT to Postfjord with a Schedule and publish key, and it can put posts on your accounts at the times you agree on. With a drafts key it writes, and you press publish.

How much does it cost?

MCP and API access come with every paid Postfjord plan, starting with Solo; the pricing page has the prices. There is no extra charge per agent or per key. The agent itself, such as ChatGPT or Claude, may have its own price.

Can Claude post to Instagram?

Yes, through Postfjord. Connect your Instagram account in Postfjord, then add Postfjord's MCP server to Claude Code or Claude Desktop with your key. Claude can then draft, schedule and, with the right key, publish Instagram posts. Every Instagram post needs a photo or video from your media library.

Is there an MCP server for Instagram?

Postfjord's MCP server works with Instagram and every other channel you connect in Postfjord. The agent never gets your Instagram password. Postfjord holds the connection, and the agent works through your Postfjord key.

Can an agent publish without asking me?

Only with a key that has the Schedule and publish level. With Drafts only, everything it writes waits in your calendar until you schedule it.

Does Muse see my other workspaces?

No. One key belongs to one workspace. Give Muse one key per brand.

Where does the Muse connector run?

Muse builds and runs the connector in its own cloud, using the spec at postfjord.com. Postfjord never sees your Muse account. Your key lives in Muse's credential store, where Sentinel adds it to each request, so it never appears in the chat. Revoke it in Postfjord whenever you want.

Do I need to know how to code?

No. Postfjord runs the server. In the app, press Set up on the agent you use and follow three numbered steps. Claude Desktop is the one that needs Node.js on your computer.
