Chat is the part of Postfjord that answers. Every DM and comment from Instagram and Facebook lands in one place, and the automations reply for you while you teach a class, cut hair or close the shop.
- 8automation templates, from Comment to DM to Ask for a review
- 24 hreply window from Meta, counted down in every thread. Automations never send outside it
- 9languages where STOP ends every automated message for that person, for good
One inbox, one thread per person
Messages from Instagram and Messenger sit in one list, with the whole history per person. The tabs Open, Mine, Unassigned and Closed show what is left to do.
- Assign a thread to a colleague. The first person who replies gets it by itself.
- Tags in colors and folders, added by you or by an automation.
- Saved replies: type a slash in the empty box and pick one. {name} becomes the person's first name.
- Contact next to the thread: email and where it came from, your own fields, tags, the last automation and the links they clicked.
- A countdown like 14 h left to reply, so you know how long you can still answer.
- When a person replies, automations pause in that thread for 30 minutes, so two voices never talk at once. Resume now starts them again.
Every comment, in one list
Comments under Inbox gathers the comments on your Instagram and Facebook posts, grouped per post with its picture. Unanswered shows what still needs you.
Reply in public
Your answer goes under the comment, where everyone sees it. Draft with Bo writes one in your brand voice.
Or send a DM
Send a DM answers in private and starts a conversation in the inbox. Meta allows one DM per comment, within 7 days.
Hide what does not belong
Hide keeps a comment out of sight for everyone but its author. Done marks it handled without sending anything.
A comment an automation already answered says so, and Postfjord asks before a second DM on the same post.
Comment to DM, step by step
Someone comments GUIDE under your Reel and gets the link in their DMs, with a button. You build it in a wizard with two to four steps, and a phone next to it shows what the person will see.
GUIDE
Sent you a DM!
Public reply under the commentHi! Want the free guide? Tap the button.
Opening DMSend it
Here it is: [your guide]. What is your email? I will send the next one there.
The DM with your link[Robin's email address]
Robin is a contact with an email address and the tag Guide. The click is counted.
Pick the post
One post or Reel, any post, the next one you publish, or the posts you tie to it in the composer.
Pick the words
GUIDE, guide and Guide! all count. Or let any comment start it. Add up to three public replies, so they do not all look the same.
Write the opening DM
A question and one button. Instagram asks for a tap before a link, and the tap is what lets you send it.
Add the link
Postfjord shortens it, counts the unique clicks and can tag everyone who taps. Switch it on, and it answers from the next comment.
Add what you need
Eight ways to start
- Comment to DM: a word in a comment sends your link.
- Comment to email: the guide first, then a question about their email.
- Keyword reply: a word in a DM gets an answer, like hours or prices.
- Story replies: someone answers your story, and you answer at once or after a few minutes.
- Thanks for a mention: a thank you when someone tags you in their story.
- Link or QR code: an ig.me or m.me link, or a QR code on the counter, opens a chat with a welcome.
- Default reply: answers what nothing else matched, once a day per person, only between the hours you pick.
- Ask for a review: a thank you after a booking or a payment, with a button to your Google or Trustpilot review form.
Claude answers the follow-up questions
Turn on Let Claude answer follow-up questions and write a few lines of instructions. Claude answers from your brand profile in the person's language, in one to three sentences, and never makes up a price or a date.
- A question: Do you have parking?
- Claude answers: From your profile and instructions
- Asks for a person: Or complains, or Claude does not know
- Needs a human: The thread waits for you in the inbox
Claude stops after five replies in a row, when you reply, or when the person writes STOP. Each answer costs about one cent from your AI budget.
Consent that holds
A person who writes STOP or UNSUBSCRIBE, in a message of up to five words, gets no more automated messages, for good. Postfjord knows the words in English, Swedish, Norwegian, Danish, Finnish, German, French, Spanish and Portuguese. Nothing in the app can turn it back on, and it holds even if you delete the contact and they write again. You can still reply by hand.
Pause everything in Settings stops every automation at once. Messages and comments still arrive in the inbox.
Flow: from a comment to an email list
A Flow ties a post, a comment-to-DM automation, a landing page and emails into one path. Build it step by step, or press Let Bo plan it and write one sentence. Nothing goes out before Go live. Flow is on the paid plans.
See what the DMs bring in
Connect Calendly or Acuity, or send bookings from your own booking system, and Stripe for your payment links. Each automation then shows the Bookings and Sales it brought in, with the amount. A refund or a cancellation comes off again. Everyone who books gets the tag Booked.
Want a ping when a DM waits? Team alerts posts to Slack, Discord or Telegram when nobody has taken a new conversation.

FAQ
Do I need extra permissions from Meta?
No. Connect your Instagram business account and your Facebook Page. Postfjord asks for the messaging permissions while you connect.
How many automations can I run?
One on Free, and as many as you like on Solo, Studio and Agency. Each plan covers a number of people an automation answers in a month: 500 on Free, 1,000 on Solo, 5,000 on Studio and 25,000 on Agency. You can always reply by hand.
Does it work on Facebook too?
Yes. Messages to your Page and comments on Page posts use the same inbox and the same automations as Instagram.
What happens when a DM fails?
Postfjord tries again after 1, 5 and 30 minutes, then every 3 hours for up to a day, while Meta's reply window is open. Each automation keeps a log of what it sent for 30 days.
