Buffer is a social media scheduler that charges per channel. If you want to schedule posts to a few accounts for a few dollars a month, it is hard to beat on price.

Buffer's pricing page and its plain text version (both checked September 28, 2026) list three plans in US dollars:
- Free: up to 3 channels, 10 scheduled posts per channel at a time, 1 user, 100 ideas, the AI Assistant, 30 days of insights and a community inbox to reply to comments.
- Essentials: from $6 a month per channel, $5 paid yearly. Unlimited scheduled posts, 1 user, advanced analytics, a hashtag manager and first comment scheduling.
- Team: from $12 a month per channel, $10 paid yearly. Everything in Essentials plus unlimited team members, access levels and approval workflows.
The price per channel drops as you add channels. Buffer's own examples:

Paid plans start with a 14 day free trial. Buffer publishes to Instagram, Facebook, TikTok, LinkedIn, X, YouTube, Threads, Pinterest, Bluesky, Mastodon and Substack, among others.
Every plan includes Start Page, Buffer's link in bio page (checked September 28, 2026). The page says you can collect emails on it, and that the free plan has some feature limits.
The pricing page describes the community inbox as a place to manage and reply to comments. The AI replies there are 5 suggestions a week on Free and unlimited on paid plans.
What Postfjord does

Who should pick which
Pick Buffer if you only need to schedule posts, to a few channels, for as little as possible. Three channels on Essentials cost $15 a month paid yearly. Buffer also posts to Pinterest, Bluesky, Mastodon and Substack, which Postfjord does not.
Pick Postfjord if your posts bring in DMs and you want to answer them, automate them and email the people who wrote, in the same plan as the scheduler. A coffee shop in Denver schedules the week's posts, sends the menu link to everyone who comments MENU, and emails its regulars about Saturday's tasting, from one workspace. The Free plan covers 2 accounts, 15 posts a month, one DM automation and 500 emails.

Is Postfjord free?
Yes. The Free plan has 2 social accounts, 15 posts a month, one DM automation, 500 emails a month, one link in bio page and one landing page. Solo costs $39 a month, or $29 a month paid yearly.
Is Postfjord cheaper than Buffer?
For scheduling to a few accounts, no. Buffer Essentials is $5 to $6 a month per channel. With 10 accounts and a team, Postfjord Studio at $99 a month costs less than Buffer Team at $120, and it includes the DM inbox, DM automations and email.
Does Postfjord charge per channel?
No. Each plan has a number of social accounts per workspace: 2 on Free, 6 on Solo and 10 on Studio and Agency. The price stays the same whether you connect one or all of them.
Can I move from Buffer to Postfjord?
Connect your accounts in Postfjord and schedule new posts there. Nothing moves over by itself. Posts you publish outside Postfjord still show up in Postfjord's Analytics.
Which AI does Postfjord use?
Claude. Every plan includes an AI budget: about 40 drafts a month on Free and about 300 on Solo. You can also connect ChatGPT, Claude or Gemini to Postfjord through MCP on the paid plans.
