You have one good thing to say: a tip, an answer to a question a customer asked, a short story. One idea, every format turns it into a post for each channel you have connected, an email draft and a section for your website. Each one gives the whole point in its own words, so people get the value in the feed without clicking a link.
Start from an idea
You can start in three places:
- In the composer, press Start from an idea under the box for the AI. What you wrote there comes along.
- On the Ideas page, open an idea, press Make a post and pick One for every channel. The text comes along.
- Bo can offer it on the dashboard or in the Manager when you have two channels or more.
Then:
- Write your idea in What do you want to say?. A few sentences is enough.
- Or paste the address of your own blog post under Or start from a blog post. Claude reads the post and takes the main point. You can use both: a line on what matters most, and the post it comes from.
- Under Write it for, pick the channels. All of them are picked at first. Email draft shows when email is on for your workspace. Website section is off unless you pick it.
- Press Write every format. It takes up to a minute.
Check the cards
Every format comes back as its own card. Nothing is saved yet.
- Each post is written for its channel: short on X, a lesson on LinkedIn, a caption on Instagram. You see the length against the channel's limit, and a note when the channel needs a photo or video, as Instagram does.
- When you started from a blog post, the link sits at the end of the post, or in the first comment on Instagram. The point is always in the text.
- The email card has a subject, a preview text, a heading and the text. When you started from a blog post, a button links to it.
- The website section is a heading and a few sentences. Press Copy and paste it into a landing page or your own site. It is not saved in Postfjord.
If Claude could not write for some channels, the screen names them above the cards. The other cards are fine to use. Press Write the missing ones next to the note. Claude writes only those and adds them to your cards, so the cards you changed stay as they are and you pay only for the new ones.
Change any text you like. Untick a card you do not want.
Create the drafts
Press Create drafts. Only the ticked cards are saved:
- One draft post per channel. Open each one in the composer to add a photo, pick a time and schedule it.
- One email draft in Campaigns, where you can add photos, change the look and pick who gets it.
Nothing is scheduled, published or sent from this screen. When the drafts are made, the screen lists each one with a link to open it. You also find them in the calendar and the queue as drafts.
What it costs and what is sent
Claude writes up to 5 channels in one call. With more channels it makes one more call for every 5, all at the same time, so 12 channels do not take longer than 5. Each call comes from your workspace AI budget, usually a few cents. If your workspace uses its own AI provider under Settings, AI, it runs on that instead. When the monthly AI budget is used up, the screen says so.
Claude gets your idea, your brand voice from the brand profile, the names and limits of the channels you picked, and the text of the blog post when you paste one. Postfjord reads the blog post through the same safe fetch it uses for your website scan, so only public pages can be read.
If you turned on Write it myself on the Ideas page, this screen is off for you. A suspended workspace cannot use it. Viewers can open the screen but cannot make drafts.
From your blog, automatically
Postfjord can do this for every new post on your blog, without you pasting the link.
- Open Settings, then Apps, and find New blog post to drafts.
- Press Add a feed and paste your blog's feed. It is often your blog address with /feed or /rss.xml at the end.
- Type a short name, or leave it empty and Postfjord uses the feed's own title.
- Tick the channels to write for, up to 12.
- Pick a time of day, turn it on and press Save.
Once a day, at that time, Postfjord reads the feed. Each new blog post becomes one draft per channel, written the same way as above. At most 2 blog posts are written per day, the oldest first. The rest wait for the next day. The posts that were already in the feed when you turned it on are skipped, so you only get drafts for what you write from now on.
You can add up to 5 feeds. Each feed has its own channels and its own time of day. For example: your blog goes to every channel at 9:00, and your product news goes to X only at 14:00. Each feed remembers its own posts, so a post is only turned into drafts once per feed. Edit changes a feed. Remove stops Postfjord from reading it. It asks first, and the drafts it already made stay in Posts.
Bo writes a short note in your threads when there are new drafts. Nothing is scheduled or posted: you check each draft and schedule it yourself. Check now reads that feed right away. You can press it once every 5 minutes for each feed.
It uses your workspace AI budget, just like pasting the link. When the budget is used up, the new blog posts wait until next month. If Claude could not write for some channels, the other drafts are saved, and the next run writes the missing ones. Editors and owners can change it. It is off for someone who turned on Write it myself on the Ideas page, and a suspended workspace gets no drafts.
From an AI app or the API
The MCP tool postfjord_repurpose_idea and POST /v1/ideas/repurpose in the API do the same in one step: they write every format and save the posts and the email as drafts. Nothing is scheduled or sent. A key with the Drafts scope is enough. See MCP server.
One call can write for up to 12 channels. Send your own ideaGroupId with the call. It is required when you pick more than 5 channels. If the call fails, send the same call again with the same ideaGroupId. After a timeout, wait 2 minutes first, since the first call may still be writing: channels that already have a draft, and the email if it is already made, are not written or paid for twice. If some channels come back under failed, the other drafts are already saved. Send the same call again to write the ones that are missing. When you ask for the website section, every call writes it again, since it is not saved.
FAQ
Does it post anything by itself?
No. It only makes drafts, and only for the cards you tick. You schedule each post yourself in the composer, and you send the email yourself from Campaigns.
Why is my Instagram draft not ready to schedule?
Instagram needs a photo or video, and so do some other channels. The draft is saved without one. Open it in the composer and add the media.
Can it make drafts from my blog by itself?
Yes. Add your blog's feed under Settings, Apps, and each new blog post becomes drafts for the channels you pick, once a day. See From your blog, automatically, above.
Can I add more than one feed?
Yes, up to 5. Each feed has its own channels and its own time of day, so your blog can go to every channel and your news to one channel only.
Can I use someone else's blog post?
Use your own posts and articles. Claude writes in your voice from what the page says, and you are the one who publishes it.
Why is there no link in the X post?
X shows posts with a link to fewer people. Claude writes the X post so it stands on its own. Add the link yourself if you want it.
What happens to the website section?
It is shown for you to copy. It is not saved, so copy it before you leave the screen.
Can I write it again?
Yes. Press Write again for a new version of every card. Each time is a new AI call, and the cards you changed are replaced. To fill in only the cards that are missing, press Write the missing ones instead.
