Wix

Connect the blog of your Wix site, then write, schedule and publish blog posts with a title, a cover picture and tags.

Postfjord publishes blog posts to your Wix site like posts to any other channel. Write the post, pick your Wix site with your other channels, and schedule it. It goes out at the time you chose, with its title, cover picture and tags.

Your site needs the Wix Blog. If it has none, add the Blog app to the site in Wix first.

Connect your site

  1. Press Connect on the Wix card under Channels.
  2. Wix opens. Sign in if it asks, pick the site, and allow Postfjord.
  3. Wix sends you back to Postfjord, which adds the site's blog as a channel.

Postfjord installs a small app on your site that may write blog posts, add their cover pictures to your Media Manager and read who your site's members are. You never give Postfjord your Wix password.

Who the author is

Every blog post on Wix has an author, who is a member of your site. Postfjord writes as the author of your latest blog post. If your blog has no posts yet, publish one post yourself in Wix first, so Postfjord knows who writes. A customer who signed up on your site is never made the author.

Write a blog post

Pick your Wix site in the composer and open its tab.

  • Title: the headline of the post. It is needed.
  • Text: the body of the post. A blank line starts a new paragraph. A line that starts with ## becomes a heading, and lines that start with - become a list. Web addresses turn into links.
  • Hashtags: they become the post's tags. A tag that does not exist yet is made.
  • Picture: the first picture becomes the post's cover. A post takes one picture.
  • Excerpt: a short summary for your blog's lists. Leave it empty and Wix uses the start of the post.
  • Send as: Published article puts it live on your blog at the scheduled time. Draft on the site puts it in your Wix blog as a draft, where you look at it one last time and publish it yourself.

What Postfjord keeps

Postfjord keeps your site's name and address, the id of its installation and who writes your posts. Each time a post goes out, Postfjord asks Wix for access that lasts a few hours. Press Disconnect and Postfjord deletes what it kept. To take away the access completely, remove the Postfjord app from your site in Wix, under Apps, Manage Apps.

When something goes wrong

If the Postfjord app was removed from your site, the channel says Reconnect. Press it and install the app again.
