Postfjord posts to Tumblr like any other channel. Write the post once, pick Tumblr with your other channels, and schedule it.
Connect your account
- Press Connect on the Tumblr card under Channels.
- Sign in on Tumblr and allow Postfjord.
- Postfjord adds your main blog to the workspace.
You never type your Tumblr password into Postfjord. You sign in on Tumblr's own page, and Tumblr lets Postfjord post for you. Press Disconnect in Postfjord to stop it, or remove Postfjord under Apps in your Tumblr settings.
What a post can hold
- Text in paragraphs. A blank line starts a new paragraph.
- Up to ten JPEG, PNG or WebP pictures, shown together, each with the alt text you gave it in the media library.
- Or one video: an MP4 or MOV file up to 100 MB.
- A link, shown as a card with the page's title and picture.
- Tags. The hashtags in your text become Tumblr tags, up to 30. The text keeps them as you wrote them.
Pictures and a video cannot go in the same post.
Limits
Tumblr lets one account publish 250 posts, upload 250 pictures and 20 videos a day. A post past a limit waits and goes out the next day.
Numbers
Analytics shows the followers of your main blog, and the notes on your newest posts. Notes are likes, reblogs and replies counted together. Postfjord reads them every night. Tumblr counts no views, so there is no reach.
When something goes wrong
If Tumblr stops accepting the connection, the channel says Reconnect. Press it and sign in again. Postfjord renews the connection every night by itself, so this happens when access was removed on Tumblr.
FAQ
Which blog do the posts go to?
Your main blog, the one Tumblr made with your account. Posting to your other blogs is not possible yet.
Can I schedule a post in Tumblr's queue?
No. Postfjord keeps the post and publishes it at the time you pick, so it never sits in Tumblr's queue.
Does Postfjord read my messages or my dashboard?
No. Postfjord reads your blogs' names and followers and the notes on your own posts, and nothing else.
