What it does
Every AI feature in Postfjord runs on Postfjord's own AI and is included in your plan, so you do not need to connect anything. If you already pay DeepSeek, or want a model of your own choice, connect your key. From then on the composer, the brand profile, week plans and AI replies in automations use it, and those calls do not count toward your plan's AI budget.
Postfjord suggests two models: a stronger one for posts and plans, and a faster one for rewrites, hashtags and DM replies. You can pick any chat model the key can use.
Connect in three steps
- In the DeepSeek platform, open API keys and press Create new API key. Copy it.
- In Postfjord, open Settings, AI, and paste the key on the DeepSeek card under Use your own AI key. Press Connect.
- Under AI for this workspace, choose DeepSeek and press Use this AI.
What moves where
- From Postfjord to DeepSeek: the brief, your brand profile, recent posts and, for AI replies, the DM thread, under DeepSeek's terms.
- From DeepSeek to Postfjord: the text the model writes, and the list of models the key can use.
- The key is checked when you connect and stored encrypted.
FAQ
What if the key stops working?
AI features show DeepSeek's error and the card shows the last one. Postfjord never switches to its own AI behind your back. Choose Postfjord AI again at any time.
Does the help assistant use my key?
No. The help assistant always uses Postfjord's own AI.
Where does DeepSeek process my data?
DeepSeek processes data in China. Check its terms before you connect, especially for GDPR.
