What it does
Your emails start out coming from a Postfjord address, with replies going to your own. With your own domain they come from an address like hello [at] mail.yourbusiness.com instead. People see your name in the address, and mail services like Gmail learn to trust your domain.
Postfjord looks up where your domain's DNS is kept and shows that company's own steps for Cloudflare, GoDaddy, Namecheap, Squarespace, Wix, Amazon Route 53, Porkbun, IONOS, Hostinger and more.
Your own domain comes with every paid plan, from the Solo plan. Only the workspace owner can add it.
Connect in three steps
- In Postfjord, open Email settings and type the address you want under Send from your own domain. We suggest a subdomain like mail.yourbusiness.com.
- Add the three CNAME records Postfjord shows where you manage your domain. Every field has a Copy button.
- Come back and press Check.
What moves where
- From Postfjord to your DNS: nothing, unless you let Postfjord add the records at Cloudflare. You add them yourself.
- From your DNS to Postfjord: Postfjord reads the records to check that they are right, and keeps checking so you hear if they stop working.
FAQ
Will this change my normal email or my website?
No. You only add new records. The ones your website and inbox use stay as they are.
Someone else looks after my domain. What do I do?
Type their email under Someone else looks after your domain? and press Send the steps. They get the records and the steps for your DNS company.
