Lesson 3 of 5 · 4 min

Post on a steady rhythm

Give each channel its own rhythm, keep to it with the calendar, and leave a note on the weeks something special happens.

People follow accounts that show up. A steady rhythm matters more than a perfect post, and it makes your results easy to read later: if you post the same amount every week, a change in the numbers means something.

One rhythm per channel

Each channel has its own audience. In Strategy, next to All channels, there is a tab for each connected channel.

  1. Open the tab of a channel, for example Instagram.
  2. Set Posts per week on this channel. A field you leave empty follows All channels.
  3. In Notes for this channel, write what is special about it, like "Only short videos here."
  4. Press Save.

A good start is a small number you can keep. For many small businesses that is 3 posts a week on the main channel and 1 or 2 on the others. Raise it after a month of keeping it.

Reuse, do not rewrite

Writing a new post for every channel is the reason rhythms break. Write one idea, then adapt it. One idea, many posts, lesson 4 of Plan a month in an hour, shows how to turn one idea into posts for each channel.

Keep it in the calendar

Open the Calendar in week view on Monday. You should see your posts on the days you planned and no empty days. Drag a post to another day if plans change. If a week is thin, press Plan next week to fill it.

Mark the weeks that are different

A sale, a holiday or a launch changes the numbers. Open Analytics, tap that week under Notes on weeks and write a short note, like "Spring sale" or "Holiday, no posts". The note shows as a dashed line on every chart, so next month you remember why that week looked odd.

How you know it worked

The calendar has your posts on your days. Each channel's tab in Strategy shows its own rhythm. In Analytics, the card Plan against reality says in how many weeks you reached your posts per week. After a month the answer should be most of them.
