Academy / Work smarter with AI

Lesson 5 of 5 · 5 min

Connect your own AI app

Let ChatGPT, Claude or Gemini work in your Postfjord workspace, choose how much they may do, and turn them off when you want.

If you already work in ChatGPT, Claude or Gemini, you can let it use Postfjord. You say "draft next week's posts" in the app you know, and the drafts show up in your calendar. Postfjord has an MCP server for this. You do not need to know what that means: it is the plug between the two.

Before you start

  1. You need to be the owner of the workspace.
  2. The workspace needs a plan with the API, which is Solo or bigger.

Connect an app

  1. Open Settings, then Apps.
  2. Under AI apps and agents, press the card for your app.
  3. Follow the three steps the card shows. In step 1, choose what the app may do. Pick Drafts only to start. The three choices are Read only, Drafts only and Schedule and publish.
  4. Make your key, copy it, and paste the text from step 3 into your app.

Some apps connect with a sign-in instead of a key. They ask you to sign in to Postfjord, pick the workspace and press Allow. The help page called MCP server has the exact steps for each app.

Try one request

In the app, write: "Look at my calendar for next week and tell me which days are empty." Then: "Write two drafts for the empty days about our new Saturday class. Save them as drafts."

Open Postfjord and look at the drafts. Change them, then schedule the ones you like. With Drafts only, the app cannot schedule or publish for you.

Keep control

How you know it worked

Your app can read your Postfjord calendar, the drafts it wrote show up in Postfjord as drafts, and the app shows under Your keys.

Quick check · 3 questions

Check what stuck

You connect ChatGPT for the first time. Which level should you pick?

Show the answer

Drafts only, so you read everything before it goes out. Drafts only lets the app write for you while you keep the yes. You can raise it later.

How do you disconnect an app?

Show the answer

Press Revoke next to its key under Your keys. Revoke stops the app at once.

Who can connect an app to a workspace?

Show the answer

The workspace owner. An app can write in your workspace, so only the owner connects it.
