Link tags for Google Analytics

Postfjord adds UTM tags to every link in your automations, emails and pages, so Google Analytics, Shopify or your booking system shows the visits Postfjord sent you.

What it does

Every link Postfjord sends people to gets UTM tags: the links in your DM automations, your emails and your landing pages. Your own analytics, like Google Analytics, Shopify or your booking system, then shows the visits and sales that came from Postfjord, by channel and by email or page.

  • utm_source is always postfjord.
  • utm_medium says where the link was: dm, email or page.
  • utm_campaign says which one: the email's code, the page's address or the short link's code.

Connect in three steps

  1. Link tags are on from the start. You do not need to do anything.
  2. To check them, open Settings, Apps, Link tags.
  3. In your analytics, look for the source postfjord.

What moves where

  • From Postfjord to your website: the tags on each link, which your analytics reads when someone arrives.
  • From your website to Postfjord: nothing.
  • The tags never name the person who clicks.

FAQ

Do the tags change where my link goes?

No. The link goes to the same page, with the tags added at the end. Tags that are already in your link stay as you wrote them.

Can I turn them off?

Yes. The workspace owner can switch them off under Settings, Apps, Link tags. A link to a booking system Postfjord knows keeps its tags, because that is how a booking is counted.
