What it does
In the email editor, an image block has Find a GIF. It searches GIPHY. Until you type, it shows GIFs that are popular right now. Click one and it goes into your email.
Postfjord saves a copy of the GIF in your media library, so the email shows that copy. Only GIFs rated G or PG show up. Big GIFs load slowly and are more likely to land in spam, so Postfjord picks the smallest version that still looks good. A GIF over 400 KB has a Large label, and a GIF of 1 MB or more is left out of the results.
Connect in three steps
- There is nothing to connect. Open Campaigns under Email and start or open an email.
- Add an Image block and press Find a GIF.
- Search, then click the GIF you want.
What moves where
- From Postfjord to GIPHY: the words you search.
- From GIPHY to Postfjord: a copy of the GIF you click, saved in your media library.
- Your email never loads anything from GIPHY, so GIPHY does not see who opens it. A GIF removed from GIPHY still shows in an email you already made.
FAQ
Why does my GIF have a Large label?
It is over 400 KB. Big GIFs load slowly and can land in spam. A smaller one is safer.
Which GIFs show up?
Only GIFs rated G or PG. Until you type, you see what is popular on GIPHY right now.
Can an email be only a GIF?
Keep some text next to your GIF. Mail services treat an email that is mostly pictures as spam.
