What it does
Write the post once, pick Mastodon with your other channels, and Postfjord posts it at the time you set. Your account can be on any Mastodon server: mastodon.social, fosstodon.org, your own, or any other.
A post holds up to 500 characters, or the limit your server sets. Every link counts as 23 characters. Add up to four images, each with its alt text, or one video in MP4, MOV or WebM up to 99 MB or your server's limit. Every post is public.
Analytics shows your followers, and the favourites, replies and boosts on your recent posts. Postfjord reads them every night.
Connect in three steps
- In Postfjord, open Channels and press Connect on the Mastodon card.
- Type your Mastodon address, like @name [at] mastodon.social, or only your server.
- Press Continue to Mastodon, sign in on your server and press Authorize.
What moves where
- From Postfjord to Mastodon: the posts you schedule, with their links, images or video.
- From Mastodon to Postfjord: your profile, and every night the follower count and the favourites, replies and boosts on your own posts.
- Postfjord does not read your password, your mentions or your private messages.
FAQ
Why does my server ask me to authorize Postfjord?
Every Mastodon server runs on its own. The first time someone on a server connects, Postfjord adds itself there as an app, once. Then your server asks you, on its own page, to let Postfjord post for you.
How do I take the access back?
Press Disconnect in Postfjord, or remove Postfjord from Authorized apps in your account settings on your server.
