Build the automation
Open Automation, press New automation and pick Comment to DM. The button at the end of this lesson skips straight to it. A phone preview beside the wizard shows every message as your follower will see it.
Want to try it before it counts? The practice run further down has the same four steps and the main settings. Build it there, then watch pretend comments come in. Nothing is posted and nothing is sent.
Step 1: the post
Pick The next post or reel if you are about to publish, or one of your latest posts from the thumbnails. If you write the post in Postfjord, you can also attach the automation from the composer, which is what lesson 4 does.
Step 2: the keyword and the public reply
Type your keyword from the last lesson. Leave Only when the whole message is the keyword off unless you want the strict version.
Public reply. You get up to three variations and Postfjord picks one at random for each comment, so Meta does not see the same sentence under a hundred comments. Keep the line about message requests in at least one.
Step 3: the opening DM
Opening DM. A short question with one button: "Hey! Want the class schedule?" and a button "Send it". The tap is what opens the conversation. Keep it short. Nobody reads a paragraph in a DM from a business they do not know yet.
Step 4: the link
Write the message with your link. Two switches worth turning on:
- Show the link as a button. The message gets a proper button, like the cards you see from bigger brands.
- Tag people who click. Pick or make a tag like "Wants schedule". Everyone who opens the link gets it, so you can find them later in Contacts.
The link is shortened through Postfjord so every click counts once per person. Previews that Meta builds and bots do not count.
Save and switch it on
Press Save automation and make sure the automation says Active in the list. Then comment the keyword from a second account, or ask a friend. You should see the public reply and the DM within seconds.

Gives everyone who opens the link a tag you can find in Contacts. The tag is added the moment someone opens the link, so you can reach the people who wanted it later.

Each person gets one reply per post, for 30 days. That is on purpose. Test again from a second account, or delete the contact first.

No. Each person gets one reply per post, for 30 days. To test again from the same account, open the thread in the inbox, open Contact and choose Delete contact, or comment on another post.
