How comment to DM works
You have seen it on other accounts: "Comment GUIDE and I'll send it to you." Here is what happens behind that sentence, so the rest of the course makes sense.
The chain
- Someone comments your keyword under a post.
- Postfjord sees the comment, checks the keyword and posts a short public reply under it: "Sent! Check your DMs, it may be under message requests."
- At the same time it sends the person a private message.
- They tap a button or a link, and get what you promised.
The public reply is optional, but it helps. Other followers see that the promise is real, and more of them comment.
Two Meta rules
One private reply per comment. Meta lets a business send exactly one message in answer to a comment. That is why the first DM asks a small question with a button, "Want the guide?" A tap on the button opens a real conversation, and from then on you can keep writing to that person. You can skip the question and send the link straight away, but then you cannot follow up until they write to you.
A 24 hour window. After a person writes to you, or taps your button, you have 24 hours to message them. Automation never sends outside that window. Lesson 5 uses it for a follow-up.
Message requests
The first message from a business almost always lands in message requests, a folder most people never open. Say so in your public reply. It is the difference between someone getting your guide and someone thinking you never sent it. The replies Postfjord starts you with already say it.
Why it works
The person asked for it, in public, with one word. No form, no link in bio, no "DM me". For you, it means every comment becomes a conversation you can see in the inbox, with a name on it.
