Design in Canva

Make the picture in Canva and bring it straight into your post. No downloading, no uploading. Every file lands in your media library like an upload.

Connect your Canva account

Each person connects their own Canva account. Postfjord never sees your Canva password.

1. Open Settings → Apps and press Connect Canva on the Canva card. You can also press Design in Canva in the composer and connect from there.
2. Canva opens in a new tab. Sign in and press Allow.
3. Canva sends you to a Postfjord page that finishes the connection. Go back to the Postfjord tab. The card says Connected with your Canva name.

In the Postfjord app on iPhone or Android, Canva opens in a browser window on top of the app. When you press Allow, the window closes and the card says Connected.

If that Postfjord page asks you to sign in, sign in with the account you started from. Canva is connected as soon as you are in.

Postfjord can then make designs for you, list your designs and bring finished ones in. It cannot see your uploads or your folders in Canva.

Make a new design

1. In the composer, press Design in Canva above the post's media. In the Media library, the same button is at the top.
2. Pick a size: Square post (1080 × 1080), Portrait post (1080 × 1350), Story or Reel (1080 × 1920) or Landscape (1920 × 1080).
3. The design opens in Canva in a new tab. Make it there.
4. Come back to the Postfjord tab, pick how it comes in and press Add to post (or Add to media library).

If you use the button in Canva that goes back to Postfjord, the design comes into the post by itself while the composer is still open. If the composer is closed, that page lets you save the design to your media library.

Use a design you already have

Press Design in Canva, then My designs. Search, then press Add on a design to bring it in as it is, or Edit in Canva to change it first.

How a design comes in

• Picture (JPG): one file per page, up to 10 pages. A design with several pages becomes a carousel on channels that take one.
• Picture (PNG): the same, as PNG. Pick it for sharp text and flat colours.
• Video (MP4): the whole design as one video, for a design with video or animation. Canva can take a few minutes to make it.

Every file counts toward your workspace's storage, like an upload. When the storage is full, the pages that fit come in and Postfjord tells you why the rest did not.

Edit a design again

A file that came from Canva keeps a link to its design. In the media library, pick the file and press Edit in Canva. In the composer, press the small Canva mark on the picture. When you add it again, the new version takes the old one's place in the post. The old file stays in the library until you delete it.

Only the Canva account that can open the design can edit it. If a teammate made it, they open it, or they share it with you in Canva first.

Disconnect

Press Disconnect Canva on the Canva card under Settings → Apps. Canva stops Postfjord's access at once. The files you brought in stay in your media library.
