What it does

Connect your Shopify store with one click. Your products then show up where people already talk to you, and Postfjord counts what they buy.

  • In DM automations: add a product to a message. On Messenger the DM becomes a card with the product's picture, name and price, and a button to buy. On Instagram it shows the name and the price with the same button.
  • On landing pages and your link in bio: the Products block shows 1 to 6 products in a grid, each with its picture, price and a button.
  • In posts: pick a product in the composer, and its picture and link go into the post. People cannot tap a link in an Instagram caption, so one press on Add to my link in bio puts the product on your link in bio page.

Each order counts for the DM, email or page the buyer came from, with the amount. Buyers who are contacts get the tag Customer, and an order can start an email automation or a thank you in the DM. A refund takes its amount off again.

Connect in three steps

  1. In Postfjord, open Settings, Apps, Shopify.
  2. Press Connect with Shopify.
  3. Shopify opens. Sign in, pick your store and approve Postfjord. You never type its address. Back in Postfjord, press Connect the store.

You can also start in Shopify: install Postfjord there, then sign in to Postfjord and pick the workspace for the store. Developers can still connect an app they made themselves. The Shopify help page has every step.

What moves where

  • From Shopify to Postfjord: each order and refund from the moment you connect, with the amount, the currency, the page the buyer landed on and their email address. Your products when you search them.
  • From Postfjord to Shopify: Postfjord asks your store to tell it about four things: a new order, a paid order, a refund, and the app being removed. It stops asking when you disconnect.
  • The email address is used once to find the contact, then thrown away. Postfjord can only read your store, and it keeps the keys encrypted.

Shopify also passes on privacy requests from your buyers to Postfjord's app:

  • A buyer asks what Postfjord knows about them: Postfjord looks up the orders it holds for that buyer and emails you the list within 30 days.
  • A buyer asks to be forgotten: their orders come off their contact. The amounts stay in your numbers.
  • You remove the app from your store: two days later Shopify asks Postfjord to forget your store. The keys and the orders Postfjord did not bring in are deleted. The numbers it counted stay.

FAQ

Do I need a paid Shopify plan?

Any Shopify plan works, and so does a free development store for trying it out. Test orders show on the Shopify card and never in your numbers.

Can Postfjord change my store?

No. Postfjord can only read your products and orders. From an order it reads the buyer’s email address, never their name. It never changes a product, an order, a customer or a price.

Does it work with my own domain?

Yes. Links to your own domain and to your .myshopify.com address both count.

Who in my workspace can connect the store?

The owner and editors, with Connect with Shopify. Only the owner can disconnect the store or use an app of their own.

Does a product change on my page when I change it in Shopify?

No. The Products block keeps the name, the price and the picture from when you added the product. After a change in Shopify, remove the product and add it again.
