What it does
Connect Mailchimp and you can do two things. Import from Mailchimp moves your audience into Postfjord, with each person's consent and proof, so you can send your emails from here. Or keep a Mailchimp audience up to date: a contact who is added or changed in Postfjord is updated in Mailchimp within seconds. People who wrote STOP, or have not confirmed their email yet, are left out.
Connect in three steps
- In Mailchimp, open Profile, Extras, API keys and press Create A Key. Copy the key.
- In Postfjord, open Settings, Apps, Mailchimp. Paste the key and press Connect.
- Pick the audience and who is synced, or press Import from Mailchimp to move your list over.
What moves where
- From Mailchimp to Postfjord: with an import, your audience with each person's status (subscribed, unsubscribed, bounced or not confirmed), when and how they signed up, their fields and their tags.
- From Postfjord to Mailchimp: with a sync, each contact's email, name, birthday, phone and tags when they change, and anyone who unsubscribes from an email Postfjord sent.
- The key is stored encrypted and never shown again. Nothing from an import is sent back to Mailchimp.
FAQ
Can I import a list I bought?
No. Import only people who signed up for your email or bought from you and were told they would get it.
Do people get a second confirmation email?
Someone who clicked the confirmation link in Postfjord's email is added to Mailchimp as subscribed, so Mailchimp does not ask them again.
What happens when I disconnect?
Everyone already in Mailchimp stays there untouched. Postfjord stops sending changes.
