What the plan is based on

Bluesky's Following feed shows posts from the people you follow in the order they went out. There is no ranking that saves a post for later. If your followers are asleep when you post, many of them never scroll back far enough to see it.

That makes the time count more on Bluesky than on most platforms. The planner's rules give the morning before work, lunch and the evening the most weight, with a later morning at the weekend.

Custom feeds can show your post later or to people who do not follow you, but your followers' Following feed is still where most posts are read first.

Find where your followers live

Bluesky does not show where your followers live. Start with what you know:

  • Your own city, if most of your followers are local.
  • The places your followers mention in their profiles, if you have a few hundred.
  • Where your followers on other platforms live. Many people follow the same accounts on several apps.

Type up to five places into the planner with their share.

Use the plan

  • Post at the times in the plan for two weeks.
  • Compare the likes, reposts and replies of each post. Keep the times that beat your usual.
  • Repost your best post later the same day at another good hour. In a feed in time order, a second time reaches the people who missed it.
