What the plan is based on
X is where people read the news, so the morning is its strongest window: the first look at the phone, the commute and the start of the work day. Lunch comes next, then the commute home. Late evenings count less. At the weekend the planner moves the morning later and gives the evening some room.
Posts on X move fast. A post is read most in its first hours, so the time you post decides who is awake to see it.
Find where your followers live
X shows less about where your followers live than Instagram or TikTok. Start with what you know:
- Your own city, if most of your followers are local.
- The countries your customers or readers come from.
- Your website's analytics, which show where visitors from X are.
Type up to five places into the planner with their share.
Use the plan
- Post at the times in the plan for two weeks.
- Compare the views and replies of each post. Keep the times that beat your usual.
- A thread does best when you are around to answer the first replies, so pick times you are awake for too.
